Say Hi to your vendors!

http://www.thezahradkafarm.com/recipe/stuffed-peppers
The Zahradka Family Farm
has been bringing fresh produce to the
Tuesday Market each week.
The corn is sweet, the tomatoes are fresh
and the peppers are abundant!

Hot peppers include cayenne, jalapeno, and habanero Peppers make a great addition to cold salads, sandwiches, stir fries, roasts, soups, and casseroles. Larger varieties can be stuffed with rice and ground beef.  Remove stem and seeds, stuff cavity with meat & rice.  Mold rice & beef into a ball by adding a raw egg, place in baking dish-cover & cook slowly till rice & meat are done.

The Green Onion Market,
located at 5500 Harford Road, features locally made products on the shelves.  Lauraville Laundry detergent, Healing Fields soaps, a variety of pickles and a selection of fresh products from Kinderhook, are just some of the choices available.

Kinderhook Snacks joins the Tuesday Market in Lauraville

Enjoy black bean brownies, triple ginger cookies, buttermilk herb popcorn, Old Bay popcorn,
rosemary & brown sugar walnuts...with figs, and crispy cheese stamps.  Delicious!
Too bad the salted chocolate chip cookies disappeared so quickly.  But, no problem -
Kinderhook Snacks are on the shelf at the Green Onion Market.

Pressed Panini
is still a hit at the Tuesday Market each week from June - October.

Rising Up Bakery
joined the market last week.  Great granola selections!

Prigel Family Creamery
is a crowd pleaser.....

... just ask the crowd!

Market Days

And another market day is upon us. While we can't seem to shake this heat spell, or stop talking about it for that matter, we can attempt to cool off with some juicy fresh fruit and ice cream from the market. Or perhaps relax on one of the artistic berry seats scattered through the market lot.

Market goers cooling off with some Prigel Family ice cream. What is your favorite flavor?

Relaxing on the berry seating that is scattered through the market lot. Which berries can you recognize?

If it is just too hot for you to even think about cooking, why not whip up a quick and nutritious smoothie with Tony Fetter's Fruit Farm's or Zahradka's fruits and veggies. Cantaloupe and Peach? Rainbow Chard and Peach?

What are some of your favorite hot weather recipes, to help you stay cool? Come stop by the market and let us know!

The weather has broken!

Now that we can safety venture outside again without instantly turning into prunes, it is time to add some substance to our meals as well! No more living off of smoothies and ice, just to stay hydrated and cool! Although, we can never say no to a freshly juiced beverage from Jukai Juice Company.

We can now elevate our meals to... cucumber and tomato salads, with juicy peaches as an accompanying dessert. All, of course, found at your lovely farmers market. Check out Zahradka Family Farm and Tony Fetters Fruit Farm

PEACHES

As part of our continuing "love your neighborhood" series, we are featuring two different neighborhood loving residents this week, as taken from the Live Baltimore photo booth session a few weeks ago.  What do YOU love about your neighborhood?

"Lauraville: The small community feel. Everyone knows and helps. Snowstorms are no problem, with neighbors who work together." We agree, Dee, and think the same thing goes for all harsh weather conditions!

"I love the biking community." As do we, Elliott!
