Small artists, Big artwork

It's Summertime & the  Fresh food   is great!

Artists Michael & Linda prepare the kids for a big project.

Large berries are providing unique seating for the patrons of the Tuesday Market in Lauraville.  Some community members pitched in to help paint berries that will take their place on the roof at the market.

Thanks to PNC & BOPA for making this happen!
A blueberry, a strawberry & a blackberry are coming to life.

The project is almost complete!

If you haven't stopped at the Green Onion Market,
located at 5500 Harford Road,
be sure to visit them at the
Tuesday Market each week.

Zahradka's Farm brings sweet corn, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant
and many more fresh vegetables each week.

Buy your fresh herbs from God Scent Herbs to spice up Zahradka's
vegetables for a great summer dinner!

It's all about the berries!

For those who have been following our artists' progress as new "berry seats" appear each week, you will be happy to know that the project is nearly finished.  It's all about the berries.  This week, help us paint the final berries that will soon find a home on the roof at the Tuesday Market in Lauraville.

Berry seats offer unusual seating at the market.

Jeanne-Marie Burdette works on the final rooftop berries.

Peaches anyone?

Stop by Tony Fetter's Fruit Farm to pick up some delicious peaches ... and while you're there, be sure to pick up some recipes for Peach Daiquiris, Peach Smoothies, and Peachy Milkshakes, too!

Meet two of our newest vendors to the Tuesday Market:
Meet David from Frank's Gourmet Chips...

...and Cliff from Brooks Brand Salsa!

Take a load off...enjoy a dinner prepared just for you....listen to some music
and relax with your neighbors.

Thanks to Blue Water Baltimore for a rain barrel workshop.
If you missed this workshop on July 31st, another will repeat later in the season.
Stay tuned.......

For the love of neighborhoods

What does a neighborhood mean to you?

Perhaps it is the strong community base or the support for small businesses. Maybe it is the comfort in knowing that you can borrow a cup of sugar from your neighbors, or that your favorite community event is right around the corner. It could be the short conversation that you have with your bank teller, or the hours that you've help spend tending your neighborhood garden.

Live Baltimore stopped by the market last Tuesday to ask market goers and neighborhood residents to show their love for their respective neighborhoods. Each week we will share with you some of that love through the photos taken during the event.

Last week, we also had a special visit from Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake. Among her stops at the market, she visited with the kids from the BUGS (Baltimore Urban Gardening with Students) program to learn more about what they are growing and making at their Caroline Street location at the Living Classrooms Foundation.

Stop by the market today to stock up on 4th of July celebratory fruits and vegetables!
